Moss was born on the 13th of February in 1977. He is an American footballer. He
played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 years with the Minnesota
Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and the San
Francisco 49ers. He is widely regarded as the best wide receiver in history
together with Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season touchdown reception
record (23 in 2007) in addition to the NFL single-season record of touchdown
receptions for rookies (17 in 1998) and is second on the NFL all-time regular
season touchdown reception list, with 156. Moss was well-known for his ability
to secure a the contested catch, and "mossed" is now a football term.
Following his football career and broadcasting, he began working as a studio
announcer at ESPN for their Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night
Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He attended DuPont High
School, one of two schools later consolidated into Riverside High School, where
the student excelled in football basketball and baseball as well as track.
Randy was also a member of the school's debate team. On the football field,
Moss led the DuPont Panthers to two state championships in 1992 and 1993. His
primary position was wide receiver. However, he also played free safety as well
as punted kickoffs and was the team’s punter and kicker. In 1994, he received
the with the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football Player of the Year.
Parade magazine named him to their All-American high school football team in
the year 1995, and in 2009 He was named among the top 50 footballers from high
school ever.
